Maintaining big data projects takes a lot. A lot of people to conduct research, populate databases, verify information, make the data accessible. It also requires a lot of material and financial resources.
Creating and keeping FishBase and SeaLifeBase alive and updated is in part possible thanks to institutions and individuals who know how important it is for humanity to have freely accessible information on marine life and who, therefore, have decided to invest in both projects throughout the years.
With the posts in the video, FishBase and SeaLifeBase want to acknowledge their sponsors, get inspired by their words and say thank you for their continuous support and encouragement.
This video is part of a year-long campaign celebrating FishBase’s 30th anniversary and SeaLifeBase’s 15th anniversary. The Sea Around Us has joined its partner projects in these celebrations by sharing the campaign materials aimed at highlighting these important milestones.
