Suzu grew up in Tokyo, Japan, and spent their high school years in Massachusetts, USA before moving to Vancouver for university. Growing up, they had dreamed of being an oceanic photographer; they were captivated by the beauty of the biodiversity and functions of marine coastal areas.
With a fascination for the ocean, they are strongly interested in conservation, leading them to pursue a Natural Resources Conservation Degree at the University of British Columbia.
They are especially interested in the relationship between human activity and the marine ecosystem, which led them to join the Sea Around Us initiative. They are also interested in the journalism/communications field and are thrilled to contribute to the team.
Suzu has a passion for photography, especially marine sceneries. On a sunny day, you can find them roaming around beaches and parks.
