Emma grew up in South Korea and moved to Vancouver at the age of six.
As of 2022, she is in the third year of her Bachelor of Science at the University of British Columbia, specializing in Statistics with a minor in Data Science.
Emma is thrilled to be joining the Sea Around Us team, where she hopes to further explore her interest in the convergence of data science, statistical applications and marine biology.
When she stumbled across the Sea Around Us website one day, she was intrigued by the project’s mission and contributions to not only improving the state of fish populations but to aid others in better understanding life below water.
Outside of school, Emma enjoys playing tennis, reading, travelling, solving puzzles and most importantly, spending time with family and friends!
