Tim Cashion – Research Assistant

Tim Cashion headshot-minTim was born and raised in Calgary, AB, far away from the world of fisheries and oceans. His concern for the environmental impacts of food production and the need to meet demands of a growing population sparked his interest in aquaculture and reduction fisheries as a supplier of fish feed. Tim focused on the environmental and ecological impacts of reduction fisheries in his Master of Environmental Studies at Dalhousie University, and is excited to keep exploring these fisheries with the Sea Around Us. Now, he is working on assigning an end use for all fish landings in the Sea Around Us database to inform humanity’s historical and current use of fish landings. When not focused on spreadsheets, Tim likes cycling, hiking, and the art of brewing and enjoying beer.
