Lisa Boonzaier – M.Sc. Student
From a young age, Lisa knew she wanted to pursue a career concerned with wildlife, the environment and their conservation. She graduated in 2006 from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, with a BSc (Hons) degree specializing in Zoology, and Genetics and Development. She then took the opportunity to travel before settling down as editor of an interactive, digital magazine produced in association with WWF. Lisa has since chosen to focus her attention on fisheries and the ocean, and made her way to Vancouver where she’s working on her Master’s degree under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Pauly. Lisa is conducting a global assessment of the effectiveness of marine protected areas.
