Sessions:

The Symposium is organized by a scientific committee charged with selecting and inviting speakers working in the fields of fisheries, conservation, governance and policy research pertinent to the sub-region.

The Symposium is composed of two main sessions:

  • A sub-regional session, June 24-25, dedicated to the presentation of the results of the FIAS project (Fisheries Information and Analysis System), focusing on the changes experienced in Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and Senegal and including those of the sector’s stakeholders;

  • An international Symposium, June 26-28, dedicated to the presentation of the results of studies conducted in West Africa including those outside the sub-region.

Among others, a poster session is provided for those who wish to participate but who have not been invited to give oral presentations by the scientific committee.

The Symposium will be conducted in both French and English. Participants may use either of these two languages to present their oral, written and poster contributions. A simultaneous translation service will be provided during the sessions.
